Stunning example of 19th-century French decorative arts, this opaline pedestal hinged box features bi-colored opaline in french blue and with bulle de savon (soap bubble) base.
Accented with finely detailed gilt bronze ormolu mounts, the box opens on a hinged lid and rests on a delicate ring base. It reflects the refined taste and quality typical of French vanity and dressing table objects of the 19th-century.
Elegant and highly collectible, this piece is perfect for storing small treasures or displaying as a decorative accent.
No chips or cracks. There is a minor surface scratch on the pedestal base that is hardly noticeable to the naked eye (see photo).
